Seven Senators-at-Large
Dave Braunschweig
I'm an associate professor in Computer Information Systems.  I've been at Harper full-time for 13 years now, and I'm also a Harper graduate from 1992.  I've served as a senator for ten years.  My vocational strengths are in information systems, management, and teaching.  In that regard, I believe I am able to provide a valuable perspective to the Senate as we endeavor to work with the administration to achieve the best possible environment for faculty, students, and staff.  It would be an honor to continue representing all faculty as we look ahead to 2016 and contract negotiations in 2017.
Greg Clemons Greg Clemons is professor of music and chair of the Department of Music at Harper. He came to the college in 1999 and has served as an at-large member of the Faculty Senate since 2004. He has been a member of the Illinois Community College Faculty Association Executive Committee since 2000 where he serves as chair of the ICCFA Scholarship Program. Greg has also represented Harper as a member of the SURS Members Advisory Committee since 2000 where he has chaired the benefits subcommittee. In 2006, Greg served on the Contract Negotiation Team.
Mukila Maitha
Tara Mathien  I will be a strong member of the faculty senate. My commitment to campus life has provided me with experiences that will be valuable to this position. Through my roles on many campus committees and work groups, I have advocated for the integrity of the shared governance system. I have established countless relationships on campus that are built on trust and respect. I firmly believe it is through strong relationships that the hard work of a union can get done. I will help build and maintain the work that needs to be done for the union and our faculty.
Kirsten Matthews I have served as a full-time member of the Harper's Psychology Department since 2007. Over the years, I have represented my colleagues in a variety of contexts, ranging from Shared Governance committees (Diversity and Inclusion, Learning Communities, Sustainability Work Group), to BUS/SS Division committees (Hiring, Promotions), to strategic task forces (Project Success). I now hope to represent my colleagues on the Faculty Senate, offering a thoughtful and collaborative approach as we navigate our involvement in dual credit courses, the outsourcing of campus jobs, and changes to procedures for promotions and professional development.
Pardess Mitchell
Kathi Nevels Over the last 25 years, I have been a professional working in Community Colleges and a member of union Local 1600.  Spending Twelve years at Malcolm X College one of the City Colleges of Chicago and twelve years at William Rainey Harper, I am very familiar with a system that works in favor of faculty and one that doesn’t.  My commitment as a Senator is to support a collective group that listens to, works for and represents a faculty group who is dedicated to its profession, to teaching, serving and encouraging students to fulfill their academic and life goals.
Stephany RimlandI will be a valuable member of the Faculty Senate, given my deep concern over diminishing faculty rights and my commitment to expressing those concerns.  My experience as a Liberal Arts Division Senator along with my long-standing service to the Professional Development Committee has provided me with a background of the issues facing our faculty. Indeed, in petitions or in Senator reports, I have shared faculty perspectives on issues as varied as privatizing our campus resources and eroding our professional-development opportunities. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to a genuine faculty collective that communicates with and serves its members fairly.
Jennifer Smith I am seeking your support as a new member to the Senate because I am interested in providing a fresh perspective, while being more informed and involved in faculty activities.  As an Assistant Professor in the Nursing program, I have recent experience working with multidisciplinary groups in strategic planning, evaluation, and institutional effectiveness as well as event coordination, continuing education and alumni outreach.  In the role of Senator, I will be committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative and supportive teaching-learning environment and I greatly appreciate your support.  Thank you for your consideration.

Three Tenure Committee Members
Lydia Omori My name is Lydia Omori, and I wish to serve on the Tenure Committee.  I look forward to collaborating with the other committee members as we evaluate the various documents and discover what wonderful, creative, and dedicated new faculty members are joining our ranks.  I have been a full-time faculty member for over 20 years, and have previously served on this committee as well as on others, including Sabbatical Review Committee, Institutional Promotions Committee, and Teaching and Learning Committee.  I believe this experience plus my work on other committees will enable me to fairly and honestly serve Harper faculty well.
Joni Rothblum
Jane Suarez del Real My name is Jane Suárez del Real. You can find me in the AED (Adult Educational Development) department where I teach writing to people studying the GED. I am committed to helping students transition from adult education to college and career classes.  There are many great faculty at Harper College. The variety of depth, background, and expertise on this campus should make the faculty and all of Harper proud.  I would like to help Harper continue retaining great faculty by serving on the tenure committee. I will bring my patience, belief in fairness, and sense of humor to the position.
Dominique Svarc

AEE Instititutional Promotions Committee Member
Jennifer Bell My name is Jennifer E. Bell. I am interested in serving as AEE Division representative to Institutional Promotions.  I served on the Contract Promotions committee in 2007-2008, helping to simplify the promotion process, and also served on Tenure Committee. Right now, I am finishing up five years of service as Goal Team Leader for our Strategic Plan. I work hard to collaborate with faculty within and across divisions as well as represent our division. I am committed to a promotions process that is deliberate, transparent, and equitable. I will be a consistent contributor and a strong advocate for divisional faculty.
