Diversity Statement

The Harper College Faculty Senate inherently values, supports, and respects the diversity of the students and community we serve and of the employee groups with whom we work. In the academic tradition of supporting different intellectual perspectives, we are committed to the values of access to learning, openness, and tolerance.

We understand diversity as inclusive of, but not limited to ethnic/racial background, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability status, and religion. As a community committed to the traditions of teaching and learning, and social justice, we see diversity as an intrinsic component of what it means to be human.
