The Bridge to Healthcare program provides a strategic pathway to various careers in the healthcare career cluster with transition support services to sustain persistence as students attain their GED and transition to postsecondary education. Faculty Diana Cincinello, Maria Knuth, and Jane Suarez del Real along with AELS Division Dean, Keiko Kimura and Associate Dean Darice Trout completed the development phase of an Adult Education Bridge to Healthcare. Through an ICCB-AEFL development grant, a comprehensive curriculum integrating contextualized basic (Pre and GED level) reading, math, and language skills with health care career industry/occupation knowledge and skills was developed in collaboration with Health Careers Division faculty Julie D’Agostino, Tonya Dixon, Geri Kale-Smith, and Associate Dean Barb Small; along with healthcare employers.
