This year‘s squad finished third (Wheeler Division). 58 community colleges competed at this year‘s nationals. The team was 4th in 2010. Third place is the highest finish in Harper Speech & Debate history. Nine of the squad‘s 23 speeches were in final rounds. The Harper squad won gold in 3 of the 13 speaking events boasting national champions in Informative Speaking, Speech to Entertain and Dramatic Interpretation. The coaching staff – Jeff Przybylo, Margaret Bilos, Josh Sunderbruch, is not only proud of the team‘s competitive accomplishments, but also of their development as strong communicators and leaders. We are also very proud and thankful for all of the support from the College. We would like to thank all of our alumni & friends for their time, dedication, and love, particularly those who donated their time this year as judges and coaches, especially Jake Sadoff, Marcia Litrenta, Maham Khan, Linda Lang, Charlie Mulvey, Dave Landsberger, Annie Sauter, Tom Tracey, Ray Hernandez and Sharon Shapiro.
