SunGard Luminis Student Portal

Harper College is implementing SunGard Banner as the new student ERP system and Luminis is the corresponding portal / user interface.  The following link provides an overview of Banner and Luminis:

Going forward, Banner is being referred to as the Student Information System (SIS), and Luminis is being referred to as the MyHarper Student Portal.  Default training materials are available now on the employee portal (http://myharper.harpercollege.edu)  on the right side under Student Information System / Training / Luminis Functional User Training.

 

Portal Capabilities

The current design includes a Community tab for employees, a Banner/SIS tab for faculty, and a My Courses tab.  There are also three student tabs that would be visible to any employees who are also Harper students.

 

Updated Portal Timeline

Sept. 22-26         Mock registration with administration, student, and faculty testing

October               Ongoing testing, training documentation prepared, test accounts available

Nov. 3                   Training available - Portal Mentors identified

Nov. 10                 Production system and accounts available?

Nov. 17                 Portal go-live for spring registration

Dec. 1                    Group Studio Leader training available

Jan. 5                     Group Studio interface available on Community tab

Jan. 14-16            Orientation Week demonstrations and training
